I attended SMDEP at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2010. I am a SMDEP Ambassador, and I was winner of the ambassador incentive award in 2011 and 2012. SMDEP opened doors to great experiences and knowledge enrichment throughout my academic career.
Presently, I am a second year medical student, in the International Program at the UAG School of Medicine at Mexico. I am also currently preparing to take the United State Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). My next goal in becoming a doctor is to apply for residency with plans of training in emergency medicine or pediatrics.
Since starting medical school, I became a part of the Community Medicine Program were I am face-to-face with patients and shadowing doctors. I am also a part of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and the North American Students Association (NASA) at the UAG School of Medicine.
Since I was young, I have been fascinated by the field of medicine. Today, that feeling has intensified and the world of medicine has occupied a large space in the list of goals that I have planned for my life.
