Dr. Trevino is a third-year pediatrics resident at the Medical College of Wisconsin & Children’s Wisconsin with a clinical passion for pediatric emergency medicine. He participated in SMDEP at Columbia University in 2005.

Dr. Trevino is a third-year pediatrics resident at the Medical College of Wisconsin & Children’s Wisconsin with a clinical passion for pediatric emergency medicine. He is active within educational initiatives in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Trevino’s current educational research interests include residents-as-teachers and professional identity formation. He has received numerous grants to support his research, with topics such as the development of a longitudinal cultural humility curriculum for residents, an AAP CATCH grant for evaluating adolescent health literacy, and an AAP award for pathway program development for URM students interested in pediatrics. Dr. Trevino is a mentor and researcher with the Tour for Diversity and is a member of the SHPEP National Alumni Advisory Board.
After earning a BA in human biology from Stanford University, Dr. Trevino taught middle school science in Bronx, NY through Teach for America and earned a MS in adolescent secondary education in biology from Pace University. He completed his MD and PhD degrees at Rush University. Dr. Trevino received awards from the National Medical Fellowship as a Healthcare Leadership awardee, the National Minority Quality Forum as a “40 Under 40 Minority Leader in Health” awardee, and the US Public Health Service Corps for Excellence in Public Health.
